Explorations Mental Health Services is seeking Behavior Health Technicians (BHT). The Behavior Health Technicians (BHT) position is responsible for providing one-to-one behavioral interventions and modeling to children/adolescents in need of Behavioral Health Rehabilitative Services, otherwise known as “wraparound services.” The BHT provide services in the youth’s school, home, and/or other community settings. The BHT works a flexible schedule, which may include school, after-school, early evening, and/or weekend hours, depending on needs.
The BHT Is an ideal entry-level position for recent college graduates (psychology, sociology, criminal justice, and human development) to gain experience in the mental/behavioral health field.
- Part-time W-2 employment
- Competitive pay starting at $18/hour
- $19/hour after successful completion of probationary period retroactive to start date
- Paid weekly supervision, training, and travel stipend
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide one-to-one behavioral interventions and modeling to children/adolescents in need of Behavioral Health Rehabilitative Services, otherwise known as “wraparound services.”
- Provide behavior management, including helping clients practice or improve skills with conflict resolution, anger management, and peer interaction.
- Collect data and document progress in a prescribed format for each and every session with the child and/or family. Complete and submit appropriate paperwork and documentation within required timelines. (I.e. Daily Reports, data collection, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) OR
- Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) OR
- Behavioral Health or Behavioral Analyst Certification OR
Board Certified Autism Technician (BCAT) OR
- Two years’ experience working in Behavioral Health Services (for Individual Services) or Two years working in an ABA program and 40 hours of training related to ABA (for ABA services) OR
- High School Diploma and 40 hours of training consistent with the tasks specified under the RBT task list from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
- Training in the CASSP principles.
- Training by the supervisor to provide the appropriate intervention or treatment as outlined in the individual treatment plan.
- Experience with behavior modification and social skill development and instruction.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to use positive support in a strength-based intervention model.
- Ability to adhere to mandated guidelines and timelines in providing services to clients and families.
- First aid certification, preferred.
- Due to itinerant nature of position, must have a valid driver's license.
- Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and DHS FBI – dated within one year
- TB Test/Physical (dated within one year)
- Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release (Act 168)
- Official Transcripts/Diploma
AVAILABLE CASES:
- BHT's are currently needed to staff cases that range from 10-30 hours per week in the following locations: North Wales, Blue Bell, Norristown, Pottstown, Plymouth Meeting, and Glenside.
