Description

The Mental Health Professional provides direct treatment focusing on assisting clients to learn to respond to their daily environment in a productive manner.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   

  1. Develop, execute and evaluate individualized treatment plans for clients in conjunction with the treatment team. Treatment plans must be written within 5 days of the client's start date.
  2. Develop appropriate behavioral and therapeutic interventions
  3. Daily progress notes (DAP notes) for individual therapy and family therapy.
  4. Develop, organize and conduct individual therapy activities at least three times weekly during the school year and two times weekly during the summer
  5. Conduct family therapy weekly.
  6. Collaborate with school district and outside mental health agencies on an ongoing basis
  7. Direct activities implemented by mental health worker
  8. Preview, select, utilize, and evaluate treatment materials appropriate for use in conjunction with educational activities.
  9. Responsible for the discharge of students including completion of all required paperwork
  10. Set up treatment plan meetings every 3-4 weeks and document status of treatment plan and progress on goals.
  11. Responsible for attendance recording for billing purposes.
  12. Contribute to development and maintenance of an environment that is non-threatening, safe, nurturing, and where students feel respected, accepted and welcome
  13. Liaison with community agencies and resources
  14. Implement Non-violent Crisis Intervention strategies
  15. Assume additional duties as assigned by the Director of Treatment.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university in a mental health / human service study such as Clinical Psychology, Counseling, Clinical Social Work, Education, etc
  • Valid PA Licensure (LSW, LCSW, LPC, LMFT) preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Mental Health field or related organization providing clinical therapy in an individual, family, or group format.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children and youth who exhibit emotional disturbance
  • Excellent communication skills and organizational skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and use technology to work effectively.
  • Crisis intervention training
  • TB Test/Physical (dated within one year)
  • Sexual Misconduct/ Abuse Disclosure Release (Act 168)
  • Official Transcripts/Diploma
  • Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and DHS FBI (dated within one year)

 

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-3:30pm

 

SALARY & BENEFITS:

  • $41,360-$44,000 based on education and experience + a $1,000 new hire signing bonus* (*after completing 3 months of service)
  • Comprehensive benefits including health insurance, RX, vision and dental insurance, life insurance, paid time off, family-friendly hours, no nights or weekends or holidays, Friday's off during the summer, Holiday break (one week off during December), Spring Break, and Summer break (one week off in June), licensure supervision, and tuition reimbursement.

ABOUT US:

Explorations Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a sub-acute program for children and adolescents with chronic or acute mental disorders who require active treatment. The program strives to meet the students’ individual and emotional needs while maintaining them within the home and school communities. The community-based program operates with a maximum of 35 students. The program focuses on stabilizing the student’s emotions and teaching the students acceptable behavior in order to transition back to the least restrictive environment with appropriate services in place.
